LEWISTON, Maine – Freshman
Ryker Paradis (Lewiston, Maine) won event titles in the javelin (53.67m), shot put (17.04m) and discus (50.00m) this weekend at the Pine Tree State Classic on his way to earning the Frederick D Tootel Memorial Award as the most valuable field performer at the meet. This marks the second consecutive season that the award has gone to a Husky as
William Carrolton earned the honor at last year's event. The Huskies placed third overall in the team standings with 125.5 points behind Bates College (145.5 points) and Colby College (141.5 points).

Paradis now ranks second in program history in the javelin and his throw of 53.67m is the fifth best in program history. His mark of the 50.00m in the discus ranks 11th in program history.

Southern Maine also had first place performances from senior
Maddox Cahill (Sunapee, N.H.) in the 400-meter hurdles, and senior
Treshaun Brown (Kittery, Maine) in the triple jump. Cahill clocked a time of 54.50 seconds to win his event. Brown jumped 13.58m on his first attempt and led from that point on. Freshman
Jaden Ruffin (Hollis, Maine/Bonny Eagle) placed second in a mark of 13.14m.

Sophomore thrower
Trevor Amos (New Gloucester, Maine/Gray-New Gloucester) also had a strong showing at the meet by placing in the top three in two events. He finished second in the discus with a personal-best throw of 40.90m to move into fifth on the program leaderboard and placed third in the hammer with a toss of 45.25m. Amos also scored points for the Huskies by placing sixth in the shot put with a mark of 12.78m.

Michael Cyr (Caribou, Maine) also had a second-place finish as he ran a time of 15:48.12 to place second in the 5000 meters.

Track Event Highlights: Â
- Freshman Ethan Cadorette (Biddeford, Maine) placed third in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a personal-best time of 10:35.48.
- Senior Michael D'Amico (Belgrade Lakes, Maine/Messalonskee) placed fourth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.88 seconds.
- he USM 4x400 relay team of freshman Conner Smith (Durham, Maine/Freeport), junior Aidan Pecoraro (Westbrook, Maine), freshman Gavin Gerry (Gray, Maine/Gray-New Gloucester) and freshman Harry Dunne (Hollis Center, Maine/Bonny Eagle) placed fourth with a time of 3:36.78.
- Sophomore Logan Berube (Turner, Maine/Leavitt Area) placed seventh in both the 100-meter dash (11.22 seconds) and 200 meters (22.99 seconds).
- Senior Christian Burke (York, Maine) placed eighth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.27 seconds. Sophomore Reegan Buck (Portland, Maine) placed ninth at 11.37 seconds. Burke and Buck placed first and second in their heat.
- Freshman Brady Edwards (South Portland, Maine) finished eighth in the 110-meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 17.22 seconds. He also ran a personal-best time in the 400-meter hurdles at 1:05.43 to place 11th.
- Freshman Kody McCranie (Bow, N.H) finished ninth in the 400 meters with a time of 52.53 seconds.
- Sophomore Elijah DiRisi (Saco, Maine/Thornton Academy) ran personal-best in the 200 meters (23.65 seconds) and 400 meters (52.87 seconds) to place 10th and 12th. He won his heat in the 200 meters.
- Pecoraro placed 11th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:01.20. Smith (2:02.63) and Dunne (2:02.91) finished 13th and 14th. Smith was the fastest in his heat.
- Freshman Camden Cyr (Kittery, Maine/Traip Academy) placed 11th in the 5000 meters with a time of 17:25.14.
- Senior Pashalis Pashalidis (Palo Alto, Cali.) placed 14th in the 400 meters with a time of 54.25 seconds.

- Freshman Tyler Bryant (South Portland, Maine) placed third in the javelin with a throw of 50.04m. He now ranks fifth in program history.
- Freshman Dylan Courtney (Hampden, Maine/Hampden Academy) set a season-best in the pole vault at 4.60m to place fourth.
- Burke and D'Amico placed fifth and sixth in the high jump with marks of 1.82m and 1.77m.
- Freshman Camden Brown (Veazie, Maine/Orono) also set a season-best in the pole vault at 4.15m to place seventh.
- Burke also placed eighth in the long jump with a mark of 6.34m. T. Brown placed 10th with a mark of 6.26m.
- Senior Jon Dalessandro (Westbrook, Maine) placed 10th in the pole vault with a mark of 3.85m.
- Sophomore Matt Reynolds (Winslow, Maine) placed 10 in the javelin with a personal-best throw of 41.98m. He also finished 11th the shot put with a mark of 10.81m and set a personal-best in the discus at 31.40m to place 14th.
- D'Amico placed 12th in the javelin with a throw of 41.12m.
- Burke placed 12th in the discus with a throw of 31.95m and 15th in the javelin at 38.40m.
