GORHAM, Maine – Matt Hutchings scored a game-leading five goals and had an assist for the UMass Boston Beacons on Wednesday evening in a 29-6 win over the University of Southern Maine Huskies in Little East Conference men's lacrosse action. How It Happened:
- The Huskies scored first with a strike from O'Driscoll before the Beacons rattled off a 5-0 run to take the lead. Southern Maine ended the run with a goal by Gaulrapp from O'Driscoll but were outscored 2-1 over the final seven minutes of the opening quarter. Rego accounted for the Huskies' goal.
- Hutchings scored four times in the second quarter as the Beacons found the back of the net 13 times. Brayden MacLean, Jackson King and Reilly Collins each scored twice. Seven Beacons scored in the quarter.
- UMass Boston added three more goals in the third quarter to make the lead 23-3.
- Southern Maine scored three times in the final quarter while surrendering six goals. O'Driscoll scored his second goal of the game with Gaulrapp assisting, while Smith and Manning also had goals.
