HOOKSETT, N.H. – Freshman Ryker Paradis (Lewiston, Maine) beat his own program record in the shot put with a throw of 17.25m to place first in the elite section of the event on Saturday at the Southern New Hampshire University Ed Daniels Invitational. He also placed second in the discus with a personal-best throw of 48.25m. He now ranks second in program history behind record holder William Carrolton.

In addition to Paradis, the Huskies had two additional athletes place second in an event. Senior Michael D'Amico (Belgrade Lakes, Maine/Messalonskee) placed second in the pole vault with a mark of 4.25m. Senior Maddox Cahill (Sunapee, N.H.) finished second in the 400-meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 53.83 seconds.

Senior Christian Burke (York, Maine) and freshman Dylan Courtney (Hampden, Maine/Hampden Academy) placed third and fourth in the pole vault with each athlete clearing 4.25m. Senior Treshaun Brown (Kittery, Maine) also had a top five finish by placing fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 13.17m.

Southern Maine also sent two runners to the Silfen Elite Distance Carnival at Connecticut College on Friday and an athlete to today's Saint Joseph's College Monks Invitational. Sophomore Trevor Amos (New Gloucester, Maine/Gray-New Gloucester) placed fourth in the hammer (45.32m) and fifth in both the shot put (12.60m) and discus (38.55m) at the Monks Invitational. Freshman Conner Smith (Durham, Maine/Freeport) placed sixth in the 1500 meters with a personal-best time of 4:09.52. Senior Michael Cyr (Caribou, Maine) placed 17th in the 10000 meters with a time of 32:45.60.

Track Event Highlights: Â
- The USM 4x400 relay A team of sophomore Elijah DiRisi (Saco, Maine/Thornton Academy), freshman Kody McCranie (Bow, N.H.), senior Pashalis Pashalidis (Palo Alto, Cali.) and Cahill placed sixth with a time of 3:30.83.
- The Huskies' 4x400 B team of junior Aidan Pecoraro (Westbrook, Maine), freshman Gavin Gerry (Gray, Maine/Gray-New Gloucester), senior Camden Bessey (Westbrook, Maine) and freshman Harry Dunne (Hollis Center, Maine/Bonny Eagle) placed eighth at 3:38.90.
- Pecoraro finished 12th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:01.46. Dunne placed 15th with a personal-best time of 2:02.27. Gerry also ran a personal-best time of 2:05.16 to place 20th.
- Sophomore Marcus Tillery (Windham, Maine) placed 17th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.16 seconds.
- Burke placed 12th in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.27 seconds. D'Amico placed 14th with a time of 16.36 seconds.
- Freshman Evan Schneider (Old Orchard Beach, Maine) placed 13th in 1500 meters with a time of 4:21.23. He also finished 26th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:06.96.
- Freshman McCranie placed 20th in the 200 meters with a time of 22.84 seconds.
- DiRisi placed 21st in the 400 meters with a time of 53.05 seconds.
- Sophomore Preston Gerry (Gray, Maine/Gray-New Gloucester) finished 23rd in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:30.47.
- Sophomore Logan Berube (Turner, Maine/Leavitt Area) placed 23rd in the 200 meters at 22.87 seconds and 28th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.36 seconds.
- Junior Cyrus Evans (Farmington, Maine/Mt. Blue) placed 25th in the 400 meters with a time of 53.71 seconds.

- Freshman Tyler Bryant (South Portland, Maine) placed sixth in the high jump with a mark of 1.83m and seventh in the javelin with a throw of 48.80m. He now ranks eighth in program history in the javelin.
- Senior Jon Dalessandro (Westbrook, Maine) placed seventh in the pole vault with a mark of 3.80m.
- Brown placed ninth in the javelin with a personal-best mark of 47.79m.
- Freshman Jaden Ruffin (Hollis, Maine/Bonny Eagle) placed 15th in the long jump with a mark of 6.04m.
- Dalessandro placed fifth in the pole vault at 3.95m
- Sophomore Matt Reynolds (Winslow, Maine) placed 16th in the javelin with a throw of 39.19m.
