Junior Quinn Dillon (Gorham, Maine) drove in the first run with an RBI single, while Douin drove in two-more with a double to right field. Sophomore Drew Scialdone (Amesbury, Mass.) made it 4-0 after being hit by a pitch for an RBI, while junior Carter Higgins (Truro, Nova Scotia) made it 6-0 with a two-run single to the gap in right. Anquillare, who led off the inning with a single and scored the first run, bumped the Huskies' lead to 8-0 clearing the bases with a triple for two RBI. Freshman Kaiden Morin (Brewer, Maine) ended the rally with a single to left to bring in Anquillare for his second run scored of the inning, and a 9-0 Husky lead.
- With a solid lead, Husky starter Colin McDonald (Gorham, Maine) pitched a quick 1-2-3 second inning, and worked around a lead-off walk in the bottom of the third. In the top of four, Dillon gave USM a double-digit lead 10-0 with a sacrifice fly to the gap in right, scoring Anquillare who had reached safely with a one-out single for his third hit of the day. Keene State broke the shut out with a run in the bottom of the fourth as Jonathan Chatfield connected on a lead-off double and scored on a wild pitch after moving up bases on a ground out.
- The score remained 10-1 in favor of USM until the bottom of the sixth. Back-to-back singles from Chatfield and Otis Follet was followed by a walk to Mitchell Coffey to load the Owls' bases before Ethan Rainha cleared them with a home run for four runs and a 10-5 game with no outs. McDonald came right back however, getting the next three outs in order on an infield pop-up, and back-to-back strikeouts.
- The Huskies bounced right back in the top of the seventh scoring four runs to lead 14-5. Douin drove in the first run of the game with a single to shortstop, while Scialdone had an sacrifice fly RBI to left. Anquillare drove in USM's last two runs of the inning with a single to center field. KSC's Follet took one run back in the bottom of the inning with an RBI single to left off of junior Carson Black (Porter, Maine/Sacopee Valley). But Black and the Huskies remained ahead comfortably 14-6 with a double-play ball to end the innings.
