Women’s Track & Field Competes at NEICAAA Championships

BOSTON – Four members of the University of Southern Maine Huskies' women's track & field team competed on the first day of the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championships at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center on Friday. Sophomore Meghan Przybilla (St. Anthony, Minn./St. Anthony Village) competed in the 800 meters, senior Lucy Depolito (North Andover, Mass.) and junior Julia Szewc (Hermon, Maine) ran in the 5000 meters and freshman Emma O'Brien (Aurora, Colo./Eaglecrest) competed in the pole vault.
 
Depolito placed 15th in the 5000 meters with a time of 19:15.55 while Szewc placed 21st at 20:17.55. Przybilla ran a personal-best time of 2:29.07 to place 26th in the 800 meters.
 
O'Brien tied for 19th in the pole vault with a mark of 3.17m.
 
The meet continues tomorrow at 10:00 am.
