Emily Wheeler (Old Town, Maine) finished the day 5-for-7 at the plate, including a pair of doubles, with five runs scored and junior
Brianna Grenier (Cumberland, RI) drove in four runs on a 2-for-5 day at the plate, including her second home run as a Husky to help the University of Southern Maine Huskies to a pair of wins in their final day of competition at The Spring Games. Southern Maine defeated Keuka College Wolves 13-2 in five innings, and then earned a 6-1 win over the Manchester University Spartans in game two.
Southern Maine pounded out 23 hits over the course of its wins against Keuka and Manchester. The Huskies had 15 hits in five innings over Keuka and eight against Manchester. Senior
Olivia Levasseur (Amesbury, Mass.) was 3-for-6 with four runs scored and three RBI. Sophomore

How It Happened: Game One – Southern Maine vs. Keuka
- Southern Maine pounded out 15 hits and scored at least two runs in the first four innings to earn a 13-2 (5 inning) win over the Keuka College Wolves. Freshman Emily Wheeler (Old Town, Maine) was 3-for-3 at the plate including a double with three runs scored. Senior Olivia Levasseur (Amesbury, Mass.) was 2-for-3 with three runs scored and three RBI, while senior Mackenzie Renner (Alton Bay, NH/Prospect Mountain) was 2-for-2 with two RBI. Freshman Avery Moore (Dublin, NH) also had two hits in two at-bats.
- USM led 2-0 after the first on RBI singles from Levasseur and senior Ella Bezanson (Amesbury, Mass.). Southern Maine added four more runs in the top of the second to jump head 6-0 over the Wolves. Renner and junior Brianna Grenier (Cumberland, RI) each had RBI doubles to highlight the inning.
- In the third, the Huskies added another four runs scoring all with two outs against them. Levasseur and Renner each had RBI doubles in the inning, while Moore and Wheeler each had singles.
- Southern Maine scored its final three runs in the fourth. The Huskies had a pair of pinch-hit singles in the inning from freshman Adeline Khazadian (Ashland, Mass./Ashland) and sophomore Hannah Garcia (Dartmouth, Mass.). Garcia and sophomore Ava Gerrish (Limerick, Maine/Massabesic) each had an RBI.
- Sophomore Mia Coots (Newport, Maine/Nokomis) earned her fourth win of the season for the Huskies. Coots pitched three innings, allowing one hit. Coots did not walk a batter and struck out four in the outing.
Game Two - Southern Maine vs. Manchester
- Southern Maine scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the first and added four more in the top of the fifth to earn a 6-1 win over the Manchester University Spartans. Junior Camdyn Johnson (West Bath, Maine/Morse) turned in another strong performance in the circle scattering three hits and four walks over seven innings. Johnson did not allow an earned run and struck out five.
- The Huskies' started quickly in the bottom of the first with a lead-off single from Aislin Davis (Tewksbury, Mass.) and an RBI double from Wheeler. Southern Maine doubled its lead when Wheeler scored on a misplayed ball.
- Johnson kept the score 2-0 in favor of the Huskies over the next four innings, retiring five consecutive Spartan hitters from the fourth through the fifth inning.
- In the bottom of the fifth, the Huskies put up a crooked number scoring four runs with some timely two-out hitting. With two away, Wheeler and Levasseur each had singles to right field to put two runners on. Tapped to pinch-hit, Garcia come through with an RBI single to left, extending Southern Maine's lead to 3-0. With two on, Grenier laced her second home run of the season over the center field fence for three RBI and a 6-0 Husky advantage.
- From their, the Spartans scored an unearned run in the top of the sixth, and in the seventh Johnson closed out the game for the win.

Southern Maine closes out its Florida trip at The Spring Games. Southern Maine is slated to host the University of New England in a non-conference doubleheader (3:00 pm) on Wednesday, March 25. The Huskies are then on the road for the next two contest dates at Saint Joseph's on Thursday, March 26 (3:00 pm) and at Little East Conference opponent Eastern Connecticut on Saturday, March 28 (12:00 pm).
