How It Happened:
- The Huskies scored twice with two outs in the top of the first to take an early lead. Sophomore Caleb Vacchiano (Cornish, Maine/Sacopee Valley) singled to score Keblinsky, who drew a walk. Vacchiano then scored on a triple by Scialdone.
- Baschnagel drove in Morin with a single for the only run of the second inning. The Huskies added another pair of runs in the third on RBI singles by Dillon and Higgins.
- The Muskies got their first hit off Strout with two outs in the bottom of the third when Cortinas singled. An error by Southern Maine then loaded the bases before Strout was able to force a ground out to end the inning.
- Southern Maine pounded out eight runs on seven hits in the fourth thanks largely to three-run homers by Anquillare and Douin. Dillon also had a two-run single in the inning
- Lakeland got on the board with an RBI groundout by Chris Finn in the bottom half of the fourth. Strout ended his afternoon by picking off Rily Roberts to close out the inning after giving up a single.
- Gifford kicked off the fifth inning with a pinch-hit home run, his first as a Husky to make the lead 14-1. Morin then pushed the lead to 15-1 with a single that scored senior Chris Quigley (Halifax, Mass./Silver Lake Regional).
- Freshman Benjamin Miller (Rehoboth, Mass./Dighton Rehoboth Regional) made the first appearance of his career and threw shutout innings in the fifth and sixth while striking out one batter.
- Morin added another RBI single in the top of the seventh after a triple by Anquillare to start the inning. Senior Nate Burnett (Rollinsford, NH/St. Thomas Aquinas) pitched a flawless seventh inning with a strikeout and two flyouts to end the game.
