GORHAM, Maine – Freshman Ryker Paradis (Lewiston, Maine) and the University of Southern Maine 4x800 relay team of freshman Conner Smith (Durham, Maine/Freeport), sophomore Preston Gerry (Gray, Maine/Gray-New Gloucester), junior Aidan Pecoraro (Westbrook, Maine) and freshman Harry Dunne (Hollis Center, Maine/Bonny Eagle) have earned weekly honors from the Little East Conference for their performances at the Maine State Meet. Paradis repeated as the LEC Field Rookie of the Week after breaking his own program record in shot. The 4x800 group was chosen as the LEC Relay Team of the Week. The same four student-athletes also earned the honor last week for the distance medley relay.

Paradise took first place in the shot put with a throw of 16.49m to surpass the record of 15.71m that he set the week prior. He is now tied for 20th on the national leaderboard and has the best mark among freshmen. His mark also ranks second in the NCAA Division III East region.

The 4x400 team placed third on Saturday in their event with a time of 8:22.21. Their converted time of 8:15.13 ranks ninth in New England for Division III. They are the fourth USM relay team to be honored

The Huskies will now turn their attention to the Little East Conference Championships on Saturday, February 21 at Plymouth State University. Southern Maine will be looking to claim their third consecutive LEC Indoor title.
