GORHAM, Maine - For the second time this season, senior
Jaycie Christopher (Skowhegan, Maine) of the University of Southern Maine women's basketball team has been named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week. In its 29
th season, the D3hoops.com weekly program recognizes the top individual performances at each of the five positions from the previous week.
Recently named the Little East Conference Player of the Week for the fourth time in the 2025-2026 season, Christopher also earned New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) First Team honor roll honors.
In the Southern Maine's only game of the week, Christopher helped the 25
th-ranked Huskies to a 70-63 win over VTSU-Castleton to close out the regular season, and move Southern Maine's record to 23-2 overall and 15-1 in Little East Conference action.
Helping secure Southern Maine's 22
nd Little East Conference Regular Season Title, Christopher shot 8-for-12 from the field (3-for-5 from three) setting a career-high in points and rebounds with 32 points and 16 rebounds, earning her conference leading 10
th double-double of the season.
Ranked No. 25 in the WBCA Division III National Poll, the Huskies (23-2, 15-1 Little East), the 2026 Little East Conference Regular Season Conference Champions, are the top seed in the upcoming 2026 LEC Women's Basketball Tournament Championship, and will host a conference semifinal game on Friday, February 27 (6:00 pm). The Huskies will host the winner of the No. 4 UMass Boston vs. No. 5 UMass Dartmouth quarterfinal.
