PLYMOUTH, NH – The University of Southern Maine women's track & field team claimed their sixth consecutive, and 25th overall, Little East Conference Indoor Championship on Saturday afternoon at Plymouth State. Fifth-year senior
Zoe Barnes (New Gloucester, Maine/Gray-New Gloucester) helped lead the way for the Huskies by winning event titles in the weight throw with a mark of 15.81m and the shot put with a program-record throw of 14.32m that ranks fourth nationally.
Southern Maine recorded 128 points to win the title by 15 points over Keene State.
The team also had second place finishes from junior
Gwen Catalano (Buxton, Maine/Bonny Eagle) in the 5000 meters, freshman
Emma O'Brien (Aurora, Colo./Eaglecrest) in the pole vault and senior
Jaigan Boudreau (Dayton, Maine/Thornton Academy) in the shot put.

Anabel Melanson (West Warren, Mass./Quaboag) each placed second in their events as well. Each team ran a season-best time with the 4x400 group clocking in at 4:05.94.and the 4x800 team running a time of 10:09.78.
Track Event Highlights:
- Catalano set a personal-best in the 5000 meters with a time of 18:23.50 to place second. She also placed third in the 3000 meters with a time of 10:55.65.
- Young placed third in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.92 seconds and also finished third in the 200 meters with a time of 26.06 seconds.
- Karantza placed third in the 400 meters with a time of 1:00.10.
- Limberger placed fourth in the 800 meters with a personal-best time of 2:26.16.
- Senior Lucy Depolito (North Andover, Mass.) placed fifth in the 5000 meters with a time of 19:15.91. She also finished eighth in the 3000 meters at 11:22.68.
- Sophomore Khalysa Hammith (Windham, Maine) placed sixth in the 60-meter dash with a time of
- Sophomore Saya Breiting-Brown (Portland, Maine/Deering) placed sixth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.55 seconds in the finals.
- Freshman Addy Thibodeau (Steep Falls, Maine/Bonny Eagle) placed sixth in the 3000 meters with a personal-best time of 11:04.57.
- Freshman Florence Guimont (Boisbriand, Quebec/Laval Senior) finished seventh in the mile with a time of 5:41.04. She also ran a personal-best time of 11:22.33 in the 3000 meters to place seventh in that event as well.
- Freshman Addy Thibodeau (Steep Falls, Maine/Bonny Eagle) placed seventh in the 400 meters with a time of 1:01.45.
- Sophomore Meghan Przybilla (St. Anthony, Minn./St. Anthony Village) placed eighth in the 800 meters with a season-best time of 2:31.06.
- Junior Julia Szewc (Hermon, Maine) finished ninth in the 5000 meters with a personal-best time of 20:16.64.
- Freshman Madi Sainis (Pierrefords, Quebec) placed ninth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:32.14.
Field Event Highlights:
- O'Brien cleared a personal-best height of 3.30m to place second in the pole vault.
- Reitchel placed third in the pole vault with a mark of 3.25m.
- Freshman Ava Gerrity (Windham, Maine) set a personal-best in the triple jump at 10.69m to place fourth.
- Junior Wynter Simack (South Royalton, Vt./White River Valley) and freshman Sienna Geretz (Cushing, Maine/Oceanside) placed seventh and eighth in the pole vault with each athlete clearing 2.25m.
- Freshman Ashley Arsenault (Winthrop, Maine) placed 10th in the high jump with a mark of 1.43m.
- Freshman Nadia Sylla (Burlington, Vt.) placed 11th in the shot put with a personal-best throw of 10.82m.
