Capone and Donahue then assisted on a power play goal by Chagnon in the final minute of the period to cut the lead to 3-2.
- Lilli Warnock extended Plymouth State's lead to 4-2 22 seconds into the second period. Chagnon scored her second goal of the game 7:09 into the period before the Panthers added another goal by Sofia Cuozzo.
- Southern Maine got within a goal at 5-4 with 8:28 left on the clock when MacLeod scored just after a power play expired with an assist from Thompson. However, Moore made four saves down the stretch and the Panthers defense stepped up by blocking five shots over the final eight minutes of regulation to secure the win.
