PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The University of Southern Maine Huskies' women's tennis team defeated the Plymouth State University Panthers 4-3 on Tuesday afternoon in Little East Conference action. The Huskies won four doubles matches to secure the win after the Panthers won the two of the three doubles matches. The win is the first for the Huskies over the Panthers since a 6-3 win on September 5, 2009.

Hanni Johnson (Livermore, Maine/Spruce Mountain) each emerged victorious in their singles match. Emerson defeated her opponent 6-3, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, Conley won 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 2 slot and Johnson had a 6-2, 6-2 victory. Senior
Muriel Lattin (Litchfield, Maine/Winthrop) won by retirement at No. 4 singles. Johnson's win at No. 3 singles sealed the match for the Huskies
