Bates Defeats Southern Maine 3-0

LEWISTON, Maine – The Bates College Bobcats defeated the University of Southern Maine Huskies 3-0 on Wednesday evening in a non-conference women's volleyball match. Sophomore Ella Koehler (Pickerington, Ohio/Fairfield Christian Academy) led the Huskies with 5.5 point from a team-leading five kills and a block assist. She also recorded a team-high nine digs. Freshman Haylie Bidegain (Logan, N.M.) also led the Huskies in two categories. The reigning Little East Conference Rookie of the Week recorded nine assists and two aces to lead the team in each stat.
 
The Bates offense was led by Sofia Castiglioni with 10 kills and Lauren Croom with 20 assists. Ellie Asada posted a game-high 16 digs for the Bobcats.
