NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Freshman
Reese Helisek (Halifax, Mass./Silver Lake Regional) had a total of 34 assists over the course of two matches as the University of Southern Maine women's volleyball team went 0-2 at a tri-match at UMass Dartmouth on Saturday. The Huskies dropped their first game to the Corsairs 3-0 and then were defeated by Trinity College 3-1. Helisek had 21 assists in the loss to Trinity and tied for freshman
Taylor Joyal (Nashua, N.H./Nashua North) and junior
Chloe Whittaker (Biddeford, Maine) for the team lead in digs with eight.

Joyal also led the Huskies in digs in the UMass Dartmouth game with seven and recorded a team-leading 12 kills in the loss to Trinity.

How It Happened:
- Southern Maine jumped out to an 8-2 lead before the Bantams clawed their way back to take an 11-10 lead. After the Huskies reclaimed the lead twice before Trinity ended the set on a 13-1 run.
- Trinity led for the majority of the second set and won the set 25-16.
- The Huskies got out to a 14-7 lead thanks to 4-0 run and 5-0 runs that featured junior Amelia Beatty (Rochester, N.H./Spaulding) and Eaton each recording two aces. A 7-0 run by the Bantams tied the set at 15-15 before the Huskies slowly pulled away and grinded out a 25-22 win to stay alive.
- The Bantams finished off the Huskies by taking the fourth set 25-15.
