GORHAM, Maine – Tori Swanson had a goal and an assist as four different players scored to lead the No. 23 Endicott College Gulls to a 4-1 win over the University of Southern Maine Huskies in a non-conference field hockey game Wednesday night at Hannaford Field.

Tonight's game marked the fifth meeting between the University of Southern Maine and Endicott College. The Gulls have won the previous four matchups and lead the series 5-0. Endicott defeated Southern Maine 6-0 on September 25, 2024 in the last meeting.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Maddy Dengler scored her seventh goal of the season in the sixth minute finishing a feed from Swanson to spot the Gulls an early 1-0 lead.
- Husky goalkeeper Eleanor Folsom (Winthrop, Maine) continued her strong play in net and kept the score 1-0 through the half. Finishing the contest with 11 saves, Folsom was aided by senior Jaigan Boudreau (Dayton, Maine/Thornton Academy) and sophomore Julia Elie (Dayton, Maine/Thornton Academy). Boudreau had two defensive saves, while Elie had one.
- The Gulls scored twice in the third quarter, taking a 2-0 lead on a penalty shot from Reagan Hicks. Hicks hit the ball well to the top left of the net past a diving Folsom for her seventh goal of the season in the 32nd minutes. Elena Govoni made it 3-0 in the 35th.
- Southern Maine took one back in the third as freshman Addison Hawthorne (Newport, Maine/Nokomis) scored her second goal of the season. Hawthorne scored off of one of the Huskies' seven penalty corners in the game (four in the third quarter) receiving a lateral pass from junior Dylan Barr (Phippsburg, Maine/Morse) and hitting a hard driven ball to the right side of the cage.
- Swanson iced the game for the Gulls in the fourth quarter hitting a reverse shot in the 55th minute for the 4-1 final.
INSIDE THE STATS:
- The Huskies have played three nationally ranked programs in its eight contests this season. No. 23 Endicott, No. 7 Bates College, No. 13 Bowdoin College.
- Jaigan Boudreau is currently ranked second in NCAA Division III field hockey for defensive saves (9).
UP NEXT:
Southern Maine hosts Saint Joseph's College (Maine) on Monday, September 29 (7:00 pm). The Huskies then travel to Worcester State on Thursday, October 2 (7:00 pm) before hosting Eastern Connecticut State on Saturday, October 4 (12:00 pm) in Little East Conference action.
