Series History:
The Huskies now trail New England College 4-2 in the all-time series. Tonight's win snaps a four-game winning streak by the Pilgrims in the series.

How It Happened:
  • New England College scored the first four points of the opening set and stay ahead the whole way for a 25-15 win.
  • The Pilgrims started the second set in a similar fashion to how they opened the first with 5-0 run only for the Huskies to match it to tie the score at 5-5. The Pilgrims eventually pulled away late with a 6-0 run and took the set 25-19.
  • The trend of strong runs to open each set continued as the Huskies went up 5-0 in the third set. However, this time it was the Pilgrims' turn to rally back as they cut the score to 5-4. A 9-0 run that featured three kills from junior Kylee Eubanks-Hemme (Rosamond, Cali.) and Eaton helped the Huskies to pull away and take the set 25-13.
  • Southern Maine used an 8-0 run to take a 13-6 lead in the fourth set and set themselves up to tie the match. Despite a late charge by the Pilgrims, the Huskies took the set 25-17 to force a fifth set.
  • The Huskies went up 2-0 to start the set only for the Pilgrims to take a 4-3 lead. The lead was extended to 7-5 before a 4-0 run put the Huskies ahead 9-7 before the match was tied once again at 9-9. New England College went up 13-11 before the Huskies ended the match on a 4-0 run.
