BRUNSWICK, Maine – Kayley Huleatt had a pair of goals and a pair of assists to lead the Bowdoin College Polar Bears to a 5-2 win over the University of Southern Maine Huskies in a non-conference women's soccer game Tuesday night at Pickard Field.

Today's game the 32
nd game in program history between the University of Southern Maine and Bowdoin College, but just the third time in the last decade. Facing each other for the first time in 2023 since the 2014 season, the Huskies earned a 1-0 victory on the road for the first win in program history over the Polar Bears. In 2024, but sides battled to a scoreless draw. Bowdoin leads the overall series 1-29-2.
How It Happened:
- Bowdoin took a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute on a goal from Catherine Webster. Minutes later Southern Maine knotted the game up at 1-1 as senior Riley Reitchel (Palermo, Maine/Erskine Academy) laced a far-post shot to the upper corner from the right side of the box for her first goal of 2025.
- Bowdoin took a 2-1 lead in the 34th on the first of Huleatt's goals, and then ballooned its lead to 5-1 with goals in the 55th, 65th and 66th minutes.
- Husky freshman Phoebe Wilkes (Falls Church, Va./Falls Church) scored the first goal of her intercollegiate career in the 75th for the final goal of the game and 5-2 score.

- Reitchel's goal is the 23rd of her career. She has 23 goals and 17 assists in 60 total games for 63 points. She is now tied for seventh in Husky career goals with Cora Seaman (1991-1994), and is fifth all-time in career points (63). Her 17 assists are fourth all-time.

Southern Maine travels to take on Division I University of New Hampshire on Sunday, September 21 (2:00 pm), and then the Huskies head to Maine Maritime Academy on Wednesday, September 24 (7:00 pm) before finally making its way to Gorham on Saturday, September 27 (1:00 pm) against Little East opponent Rhode Island College.
