GORHAM, Maine – Three of the University of Southern Maine's 19 Little East Conference teams earned the title of 2024-2025 LEC Team Academic Award.  The LEC Team Academic Award is awarded to the team with the highest average cumulative grade point average (GPA) through the current academic year among each of the league's current 21 championship sport offerings.
 
Achieving the academic distinction were Huskies' men's golf (3.56), men's indoor track & field (3.37), and men's tennis (3.31). Both the Huskies' men's golf and indoor track & field programs each claimed their respective conference championship trophy during the 2024-2025 seasons, while Huskies' men's tennis had a successful season, qualifying for the 2025 LEC Championship tournament for the first time since the 2022 season. 
 
The men's tennis team recently had four of its team members named to the 2025 Spring Sport All-Academic Team.  During the winter season, Huskies' men's indoor track & field had 17 recipients of the Winter Sport All-Academic Team honors, while the men's golf had two honorees receive Fall Sport All-Academic Team accolades.
