How It Happened – Plymouth State 5 , Southern Maine 2
  • Plymouth State scored twice in the fifth and once more in the sixth to break open a 2-2 game and earn a 5-2 win over the Huskies.
  • J. Guertin had an RBI single up the middle, and C. Macri did the same as part of a four-hit top of the fifth that led to two runs and a 4-2 PSU lead.
  • With two outs in the sixth,  E Bessette and  K. Bessette combined for the 5-2 difference.  With two away K Bessette singled to center and then stole second to put herself in scoring position.  And, E Bessette drove her in with a single up the middle before the final out of the inning was recorded.
  • The Huskies were led by an RBI single from senior Meaghan Dufresene (Mattapoissett, Mass.) in the bottom of the first, and an RBI double in the third from junior McKenzie Renner (Alton, NH).
  • The Huskies looked to have a big inning in the fourth loading the bases on a walk, an error and a hit-by-pitch, but PSU starter Kate McGrath was aided by a line-out double play before getting the final out on a grounder.
  • Renner finished the game as the Huskies lone repeat hitter going 2-for-4 at the plate.  McGrath went the distance scatting seven hits and two walks in the win.

How It Happened – WestConn 6, Southern Maine 1
  • Ahead 3-1 after four innings, the WestConn Wolves scored three runs in the top of the fifth to put the game out of reach and hold for the 6-1 win to stay alive in the conference tournament.
  • Down an out, the Wolves loaded the bases on three consecutive singles and scored its first run after a batter was hit by a pitch.  With the bases still loaded and no outs, Kendall Allen singled through the left side to make it a 6-1 WestConn lead.
  • WestConn pitcher Lindsay Farinaccio, who entered in the third,  retired the Huskies in order in the bottom of the fifth.
  • USM had a strong scoring opportunity in the sixth loading the bases on a pair of walks and a fielder's choice play that did not result in an out, but the Wolves Farinaccio did enough to get three straight outs, including a play at the plate to keep it 6-1.
  • In the seventh, junior Kristina Yebba had a pinch-hit double to start the inning, but was left stranded as Farinaccio closed the game again with three consecutive outs.
  • Husky junior Alana Delisle (Amesbury, Mass.) was 2-for-4 for the Huskies, including a double.  Freshman Taylor Takatsu (West Gardiner, Maine) also had a double joining Yebba and Delisle with extra-base hits for the Huskies.
