GORHAM, Maine – Six members of the University of Southern Maine Huskies' men's track & field team have earned All-Region honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for the 2025 outdoor season. The honorees for the Huskies are junior
Christian Burke (York, Maine), junior
Maddox Cahill (Sunapee, N.H.), graduate student
William Carrolton (Bath, Maine/Morse), junior
Michael D'Amico (Belgrade Lakes, Maine/Messalonskee), fifth-year senior
Ben Drummey (Biddeford, Maine), and graduate student
Ethan Shain (Sanford, Maine). All-Region honors are awarded to the top five (5) performers in each men's and women's track & field event and the members of the top three (3) relay teams in each NCAA Division III region from the season-ending descending order list of performances.

Burke earned All-Region status in the decathlon by placing third in the region with a score of 6,074 points, a total that ranked 50th in the nation. His performance won him the Division III New England title in the event. He ranks third in program history in the decathlon. This is his first time earning All-Region honors in the decathlon.

Cahill, another first-time honoree, ranked fifth in the region in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 53.90 seconds. He achieved this time at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championships where he placed fourth. Cahill is the second fastest performer in the event in program history behind record holder Jeremy Collins.

Carrolton, who will compete in the discus at the 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Thursday, earned All-Region honors in both the discus and shot put. An All-Region performer in the discus last season, Carrolton had the top mark in the region with a throw of 53.29m at the NEICAAA Championships to win the event title. His throw moved him into fifth on the national leaderboard. Carrolton also had the second-best shot put mark in the region at 15.78m to earn All-Region honors in the event for the first time in his outdoor career and he ended the season ranked 48th nationally. His marks are both program records.

D'Amico, like Burke, also earned All-Region honors thanks to his performance in the decathlon at the Division III New England Championships. He placed second behind Burke with a personal-best 5,847 points and ranks fourth in program history. He was also an All-Region performer in the event last season.

Drummey, another Husky who will be competing at this week's National Championships, earned the fourth All-Region selection for the pole vault of his career. His mark of 4.95m ranked second in the region and tied for 11th nationally. He cleared the bar at the height twice with the first time coming at the Division III New England Championships to place third. A two-time All-American in the outdoor pole vault, Drummey will compete at the National Championships on Saturday at 12:00 pm.

Shain also earned All-Region honors in two events. He repeated as an All-Region performer in the 100-meter dash by recording the top time in the region with a time of 10.43 seconds in the preliminaries at the Division III New England Championships. He also had the second fastest 200-meter dash time in the region at 21.41 seconds. He set new program records in each event this season. Shain will compete in the preliminary round of the 100-meter dash on Friday at 3:30 pm as part of the second day of the National Championship meet.
