How It Happened:
- Keblinsky staked the Huskies a 2-0 lead with a two-run double down the left field line, and freshman Drew Scialdone (Amesbury, Mass.) and junior Chris Quigley (Halifax, Mass./Silver Lake Regional) made it 4-0 in the first with a sac-fly RBI and a walk RBI respectively.
- The Huskies continued to roll offensively making it 5-0 in the bottom of the second on Keblinsky's solo inside-the-park home run and then ballooned their lead to 8-0 in the fourth. LeBlond had a two-run single through the left side, and senior Connor Burgess (Halifax, Mass./Silver Lake Regional) knocked an RBI single up the middle.
- In the fifth, Southern Maine added another run without recording a hit as junior Hunter Brissette (Lisbon, Maine) reached on an error, stole second, moved to third on a passed ball and then scored on a throwing error for a 9-0 lead.
- UMF scored its first run of the game with a single to left field for an RBI from Paul Vachon in the sixth. The Beavers had three hits in the inning, including Vachon's single. However, the Huskies scored twice in the home half of the inning. Scialdone singled, LeBlond had a double, and Burgess drew a walk to load the bases with one out. Scialdone scored on a passed ball, before Brissette picked up an RBI with a single to first base for an 11-1 USM advantage.
- Ike Wrigley's fielder's choice RBI made it an 11-2 game for the Beavers in the top of the seventh. In the bottom of the inning, the Huskies stranded a runner in scoring position to keep the score 11-2. With just six outs left for UMF in the game, the Beavers struck for five runs in the top of the eight, and had the game-tying run on the bases before the inning ended. UMF scored its five runs on five hits, a walk and a pair of Husky fielding errors. Wrigley, Ryan Sargent and Jonny Pruett each had RBI singles in the inning for the Beavers helping cut the UMF deficit to 11-7.
- In their final at bat of the game, Southern Maine took back a run for the 12-7 final. LeBlond led off the inning with a bunt single and moved up to second on a botched throw, and then took third on a passed ball. With a runner 90-feet away, Brissette earned the RBI with a sac-fly to center field.
- Keblinsky entered to pitch in the ninth and started with back-to-back strikeouts and then earned a ground out to end the game.
