Pat O'Driscoll (Biddeford, Maine) had a career day with five goals to lead the University of Southern Maine Huskies to a 14-10 non-conference home win against the Regis College Pride on Friday evening. O'Driscoll was one of three Huskies with five-point games along with sophomore
Owen Gaulrapp (Windham, Maine) and junior
Rhys Bridges (Oakland, Maine/Messalonskee). Each player had two goals and three assists.
Sophomore
Adam Coley (Valencia, Cail./Cheshire) had two goals and an assist for three points. Senior
Andrew James (Portland, Maine/Deering) and freshman
Zach Smith (Waterbury, Vt./Harwood Union) each recorded a goal and an assist. The points for Smith are the first of his career.
Freshman
Rodrigo Araujo (Berkeley Heights, N.J./Governor Livingston) scored a goal as well while sophomore
Nick Shevchenko (Gray, Maine/Gray-New Gloucester) won 20-of-24 faceoffs and recorded 15 ground balls. His total is tied for the third highest single-game total in program history. Sophomore
Brycen Wolfahrt (Biddeford, Maine) made 13 saves to earn his second win of the season.
Nick Klein and Anthony Marsella led Regis with three goals each.

How It Happened:
- O'Driscoll scored twice in the first quarter and James also tallied a goal to give the Huskies a 3-1 lead after one quarter. Liam Donovan scored for Regis in the final 30 seconds of the frame.
- A pair of quick goals from Bridges and Coley extended to 5-1 before Regis responded in kind to make it 5-3 with 9:00 left in the half. Another goal by Coley and one from Araujo in the final minute gave the Huskies a 7-3 lead at halftime. Shevchenko won 11-of-12 faceoffs in the half.
- The Huskies started to pull away by outscoring the Pride 5-2 in the third quarter thanks to two down-goals on the same penalty. O'Driscoll had the first with a feed by Coley and Gaulrapp netted the second. Gaulrapp scored twice in the quarter while Bridges and Smith also had goals.
- Regis opened the fourth quarter on a 3-0 run to cut the score to 12-8 with 8:40 left. Two fourth quarter goals by O'Driscoll helped put the game away and the Huskies held on a 14-10 victory.
Inside The Stats:
- The Huskies led 42-27 in ground balls thanks largely to Shevchenko's dominance on faceoffs. He won most of the ground balls himself, but sophomore Lucas Rego (Dracut, Mass./Lowell Catholic) also helped the Huskies win possession with a pair of ground balls on faceoffs.
- Southern Maine outshot Regis 46-34 and led 32-23 in shots on goal.
- O'Driscoll now has 12 goals on the season and has scored in each of the last eight games dating back to last season.
- Gaulrapp now has 12 points this season on six goals and six assists. He has matched his total last year already through seven games.

The Huskies are off until Saturday, March 22 when they travel to Massachusetts Maritime Academy for their first Little East Conference game of the season.
