GORHAM, Maine –The Maine Maritime Academy Mariners defeated the University of Southern Maine Huskies 23-3 on Tuesday evening. Sam Nichol scored six goals and had an assist while Trey Marcil recorded eight points from three goals and five assists. Sophomore
Pat O'Driscoll (Biddeford, Maine) had a goal and an assist for the Huskies. O'Driscoll extended his scoring streak to seven games dating back to the end of last season.

How It Happened:
- Bryce Crowell won the opening faceoff and set up Marcil for a goal two seconds into the game. The Mariners scored two more times in the quarter to take a 3-0 lead after the first 15 minutes of play.
- Maine Maritime scored 12 times in the second quarter to put the game out of reach. Nichol and Tobey Lappin each scored three times during the run.
- The Huskies got on the board with two goals in the third quarters despite being outscored 4-2 in the period. O'Driscoll scored the first goal while junior James Kastrinakis (Pittsfield, Mass./Taconic) scored his first of the season with an assist from sophomore Adam Coley (Valencia, Cail./Cheshire).
- Senior Andrew James (Portland, Maine/Deering) had a goal in the fourth quarter as the Mariners closed out the game on a 4-1 run.
