How It Happened:
  • The Pilgrims scored twice in the first two minutes of the game with Matt O'Rourke and Pfeifle finding the back of the net. Thomas Norton assisted on O'Rourke's tally and Daley had the helper on Pfeifle's score. Coley scored off the rebound of Gaulrapp's shot to cut the lead to 2-1 but Norton's quickly got the lead back to two goals with a score of his own. Daley teamed up with Pfeifle again to extend the lead to 4-1 with just over two minutes left then the Huskies made the score 4-2 when James fired a shot past Stroud after a pass from Gaulrapp.
  • O'Driscoll scored 1:57 into the second quarter with Bridges assisting but the Pilgrims rallied back with a 5-0 run that saw Pfeifle and Daniel Varga each score twice. Pfeifle also assisted on a goal by Daley in the stretch. McCarthy added a goal with 26 seconds left to send the game to halftime with the Huskies down 9-4.
  • Southern Maine chipped away at the lead with a 2-0 run over the first six minutes of the third quarter. James scored a man-up goal with McCarthy feeding him the pass and O'Driscoll scored his second of the game with 9:37 remaining in the quarter. The Pilgrims made the lead 10-6 with a man-up goal by Pfeifle with Daley once again providing the assist.
  • Bridges and Coley each scored twice in the run to tie the game in the fourth. The first goal came when Wolfahrt made a save and lofted a pass to sophomore Lucas Rego (Dracut, Mass./Lowell Catholic) with plenty of space to complete the clear. Rego passed to McCarthy who passed to Bridges for the goal. Bridges' second goal came after he leaped to snag a pass from freshman Rodrigo Araujo (Berkeley Heights, N.J./Governor Livingston) and ripped a shot into the back of the net. Coley collected the ground ball after a shot by Gaulrapp and fired a laser to make the score 10-9 with 6:30 left to play. He then tied the game about three minutes later when he slipped behind the defense and got a pass from O'Driscoll to beat the goalie.
  • A penalty by the Huskies gave the Pilgrims a man-up opportunity with 1:21 left and Daley set up Pfeifle for the game-winning score. Cam Hebert won the following faceoff to allow the Pilgrims to run out the clock.
