GORHAM, Maine – Taylor Schwalje scored in overtime to give the Husson University Eagles a 4-3 win against University of Southern Maine Huskies on Wednesday evening. Husson tied the game in the final 17 seconds of regulation on a goal by Kiernan Field. Freshman
Finn McCarthy (Durham, Maine/Freeport) scored the first goals of his career for the Huskies and sophomore
Pat O'Driscoll (Biddeford, Maine) had a goal as well.

Addison Dietz (Waterbury Center, Vt./Harwood Union) and sophomore
Brycen Wolfahrt (Biddeford, Maine) held the Eagles in check with a combined 17 saves. Dietz exited the game after the first half after making six saves to help the Huskies to a 2-1 lead at the midway point. Wolfahrt stopped 11 shots in the second half and overtime.

How It Happened:
- McCarthy scored both goals of the first period. His first came 3:46 into the game when sophomore Kaden Manning (Alfred, Maine/Massabesic) fed him a pass after shaking off a defender. McCarthy's second goal came after bulldozing through a defender and ripping a shot past Torres while falling down with 3:50 left in the quarter.
- Dietz made five saves in the second quarter before Sean Lyne scored a man-up goal with 29 seconds left. Drew Clinch had the assist on the score.
- Dominic Hollenkamp tied the game at 2-2 50 seconds in the new half. The goal was the only one of the quarter.
- O'Driscoll reclaimed the lead for the Huskies with a man-up goal with 9:11 left on the clock thanks to a pass from senior Andrew James (Portland, Maine/Deering). The Eagles were able to tie the game at 3-3 on a quick clear and Field's goal with just 17 seconds remaining.
- Schwalje slipped behind the Huskies' defender and Owen Giorgio fed him a pass to set up the game-winner in overtime.

- Husson led 21-12 in shots on goal and 6-4 on faceoffs. Brad Stolt was 4-for-5 on faceoffs for the Eagles.
- Husson had a slight 34-33 edge in ground balls. Giorgio recorded nine to lead all players while freshman Zach Smith (Waterbury, Vt./Harwood Union) led the Huskies with five. O'Driscoll and James each had four.
- Giorgio also caused four turnovers. Senior Duncan Hayes (Augusta, Maine/Cony) and sophomore Adam Coley (Valencia, Cail./Cheshire) each caused three turnovers to lead the Huskies.
