How It Happened:
- Each team scored twice in the first quarter. Worster had both Thomas goals with freshman Rodrigo Araujo (Berkeley Heights, N.J./Governor Livingston) and Gaulrapp scoring for the Huskies in between. The goal is the first of Araujo's career.
- Thomas outscored Southern Maine 3-0 in the second quarter to take a 5-2 lead at the half.
- The Huskies managed to cut the lead to 6-4 entering the fourth quarter thanks to goals by junior Rhys Bridges (Oakland, Maine/Messalonskee) and sophomore Kaden Manning (Alfred, Maine/Massabesic). Coley assisted on Bridges' first goal as a Husky. Manning's goal was a man-up goal.
- Thomas opened the fourth quarter with a pair of goals to extend their lead to 8-4 but Gaulrapp closed the gap to 8-6 with two goals of his own. A man-down goal by O'Driscoll with 54 seconds left made the score 8-7 and Coley tied the game with just 17 seconds left in regulation.
- Senior captain Duncan Hayes (Augusta, Maine/Cony) broke up a pass while the Terriers were pressuring in overtime and this allowed Zunser to scoop up the ground ball and charge into the offensive side of the field to set up the Southern Maine offense. Following a Husky timeout, Zunser took the ball on the restart, brushed off his defender, and fired the game-winning goal.
