UMass Boston Edges Out Southern Maine 1-0

GORHAM, Maine – Aisling McFadden's goal one minute into the third period proved to be the difference in a 1-0 Little East Conference win for the UMass Boston Beacons over the University of Southern Maine Huskies' women's ice hockey team on Saturday afternoon. Leah Bosch stopped all 17 shots that she faced to keep the Huskies off the scoreboard. On the other end of the ice, junior goalie Maggie Jones (St. John's, Newfoundland/Mount Academy) turned in a tremendous effort with 23 saves.

Freshman Charlotte Hughes (Mississauga, Ontario) led the Huskies offense with four shots on goal.

Two of those saves came on good scoring chances by Hughes and sophomore Sophia Capone (Cumberland, R.I./Portsmouth Abbey School).
