The third-seed Huskies will host the 2025 Little East Conference Championship game for the fourth consecutive year at Hannaford Field, and will welcome fourth-seed WestConn Wolves on Saturday, November 8 (tba). The Records:
No. 3 Southern Maine (10-10-2)
No. 2 Keene State (9-5-6)

Tonight's game marked the 31st meeting between the University of Southern Maine and the Keene State College Owls.  Keene State leads the overall series 22-6-2; however, the Huskies are 4-0-2 in the last six contests, outscoring the Owls 22-7 in that timeframe. It is the first time since the 2004 season that a contest between the Huskies and Owls has gone to overtime.

How It Happened:
  • Senior Reiley Reitchel (Palermo, Maine/Erskine Academy) put the Huskies on the board early in the fifth minute scoring her 10th goal of 2025. Reitchel received a ball across the 18 from freshman Lexi Morin (Brunswick, Maine) and then hit a shot to the top near-post corner for a 1-0 USM lead.
  • Keene State equalized in the 12th minute after the Owls were awarded a penalty kick.  Emily O'Connell converted for KSC powerfully tucking the ball into the right side of the net for the 1-1 game, which remained unchanged through the first half.
  • Southern Maine opened the second half on the front foot and put seven shots towards the net in the opening 15 minutes. In the 66th, senior Kadynne Smith (Biddeford, Maine) turned one on frame and was followed by a Magid shot-on-goal in the 68th but each time Owl keeper Riley Andriski made the save.
  • Morin broke through for a go-ahead goal in the 70th, collecting a ball played into the area, and slotting in her fifth goal of her rookie season with a near-post shot past Andriski low and to the corner.
  • After Morin's goal both the Owls and Huskies had one shot on frame, but both were stopped. A Husky foul in the 82nd minute led to a direct kick for the Owls a few feet outside of the 18, and Owls' Giuliana Stolfi was able to put one into the top right corner for a 2-2 game late.
  • Both teams closed out regulation with one more shot each, but Reitchel's shot in the 90th did not have enough on it to challenge Andriski.
  • In overtime, USM controlled possession and had a pair of shots from Morin and Smith in the 93rd.  Looking to end the game with a golden goal, Morin headed on a ball to Reitchel down the right side, and Reitchel carried the ball towards the end line before sending in a challenging cross towards net.  Andriski got a hand on the service, but Magid was there to clean up the loose ball and punched it home to the near post for the game-winner.
