WATERVILLE, Maine – Senior
Sydnee Chaisson (Stratford, Prince Edward Island/Mount Academy) scored twice for the University of Southern Maine Huskies' women's ice hockey team came up short in a 3-2 loss to the No. 13 Colby College Mules. This is the first multiple-goal game of Chaisson's career and gives her a team-leading three goals on the season.
Colby had goals from Courtney Schumache, Emily Olsthoorn and Molly Lefebvre. Junior goalie
Maggie Jones (St. John's, Newfoundland/Mount Academy) made 37 saves for the Huskies, while Colby's Ally Martiniello had 11 saves to earn the win.

How It Happened:
- Colby took a 2-0 lead in the first period on goals from Schumache and Olsthoorn. Schumache scored 10:43 into the period with Jo Tattersall and Beth Sinson assisting. Olsthoorn extended the lead to 2-0 with 29 seconds left in the period.
- Southern Maine cut the lead to 2-1 when Eigner took advantage of a misplayed puck by Colby and set up a crashing Chaisson for the goal. The assist is her first point of the season.
- Lefebvre intercepted a pass and fired a shot to give the hosts a 3-1 lead 5:43 into the third period. The Huskies cut the lead to 3-2 on a power play goal by Chaisson with less than three minutes to play but the Mules were able to hang on for the win. Seniors Audrey Donahue (Timberlea, Nova Scotia/Kimball Union Academy) and Olivia Stewart (Fredericton, New Brunswick/Mount Academy) had assists on the goal.

- Southern Maine went 1-for-4 on the power play, while Colby went 0-for-3.
