GORHAM, Maine - Led by 2025 Little East Conference Goalkeeper of the Year senior
Eleanor Folsom (Winthrop, Maine) and the 2025 Little East Conference Rookie of the Year
Maddie Niles (Benton, Maine/Lawrence) five members of the University of Southern Maine Huskies' field hockey team have been recognized with post-season honors from the Little East Conference.
Folsom, senior
Jaigan Boudreau (Dayton, Maine/Thornton Academy) and junior
Bri Townsend (Newport, Maine/Nokomis) each earned a spot on the All-LEC first team, while junior
Dylan Barr (Phippsburg, Maine/Morse) was named to the second team. Junior
Annie Jackson (Windham, Maine) was named the Huskies' 12
th Player – presented by the LEC The Twelfth Player award is comprised of one individual per program as selected by each head coach, and " presented to a student-athlete in recognition of their positive contributions to the team both on and off the field, who brings forth their best effort in competition, practice and other team activities that positively contribute to the success of the program.
Earning all-conference recognition for the first time in her career, Folsom had an outstanding final season for the Huskies and is Southern Maine goalkeeper to earn the Little East's Goalkeeper of the Year honor. The conference leader in save percentage (.802), Folsom made 146 stops in 22 games for the Huskies and led the LEC in shutouts with four. Second in the conference in goals against average, Folsom posted a 1.745 GAA, while making 6.64 saves per game. Facing several nationally-ranked opponents throughout the season, Folsom had five games with double-digit saves, including a career-best 22 saves in the double-overtime thriller against Keene State in the LEC semifinals. Folsom is a Sport Management major.
The fifth Husky in program history to earn LEC Rookie of the Year honors, Niles joins and elite group of standout student-athletes. Making an immediate impact on the Huskies' offense in her first season in Gorham, Niles played and started in all 22 of the Huskies games, and was second on the team in scoring with eight goals and four assists for 20 points. Named the LEC Rookie of the Week four times in 2025, Niles scored five of her eight goals against Little East Conference opponents. Niles is a Health Sciences major.
Ranked third in NCAA Division III field hockey in defensive saves with 13, Boudreau led the Little East and the Huskies' defense throughout the season. Helping Southern Maine to five wins by shutout during the season, Boudreau also contributed to the Huskies' offense with two goals and an assist. Boudreau is now a two-time first team selection, previously earning the honor in 2021. In 2022, Boudreau was recognized as the Huskies' 12
th player. She is earning her degree in Business Finance.
Joining the Huskies in 2025 after transferring from UMaine, Townsend is earning post-season honors for the first time in her career. An adept ball-handler, Townsend made an immediate impact offensively leading the Huskies with 12 goals and three assists for 27 points. Six of Townsend's 12 goals were game-winners – the second highest in the Little East. Townsend scored Southern Maine's game-winning goal in a 1-0 quarterfinal win over Plymouth State during the LEC Championship Tournament, and had the overtime winner against Saint Joseph's College (3-2). She is studying Sport Management.
A three-year member of the Huskies' squad, Barr had a breakout season for Southern Maine earning post-season accolades for the first time in her career. A tireless worker in the midfield for the Huskies, Barr had one goal and three assists for five points in 2025. Playing and starting in all 22 of the Huskies games, Barr recorded her lone goal of the season in a 2-1 road win at Wheaton College. She is earning her degree in Exercise Science.
