GORHAM, Maine - Five different players score their first intercollegiate goal as the University of Southern Maine Huskies rolled to a 5-0 win over the University of Maine at Presque Isle Owls in a non-conference men's soccer game Sunday afternoon at Hannaford Field.
Sophomore
Connor Leclerc (Windham, Maine), freshman
Paddy Walsh (Westbrook, Maine),

Pashalis Pashalidis (Palo Alto, Calif.) each scored for the Huskies.
The Records:
UMaine Presque Isle (4-9-1)
Southern Maine (4-4-7)
Playing the Owls for the first time since 2021, Southern Maine is now 2-0-1 in three meetings with the Owls. Southern Maine defeated UMPI 4-0 in their last meeting. USM first faced the Owls in 1998, earning a 3-1 win. All three contests have been played in Gorham, Maine.
How It Happened:
- The Huskies got off the mark early when Leclerc hustled his way to a tap-in goal in front of the net in the seventh minute. Junior Nick Mauro (Cape Neddick, Maine) sent a ball into the box that was quickly played across to Leclerc from junior Exauce Lenge (Portland, Maine) for the 1-0 lead.
- Walsh fired in a 20-yard strike from the top of the box in the 15th minute on a well-placed ball from sophomore Ryan Lasusa (Higganum, Conn./Haddam Killingworth) for a 2-0 before O'Neill made it 3-0 in the 32nd for Southern Maine. O'Neill knocked in an assist from senior Nathan Brown (Palo Alto, Calif.) who did well to carry the ball down the left side of the field before feeding O'Neill for the tally.
- Pashalidis quickly made it a 4-0 game just 19 seconds in to the second half. Receiving a ball in the Huskies offensive third, Pashalidis drove at the UMPI defense before beating UMPI to the far post for the goal.
- Dialimini closed the scoring for Southern Maine in the 68th minute, heading in a corner kick service from sophomore Kolby Maxi (South China, Maine/Messalonskee).
