Ella Koehler (Pickerington, Ohio/Fairfield Christian Academy) recorded a double-double with 10 kills and a season-high 15 digs as the University of Southern Maine Huskies' women's volleyball defeated the Husson University Eagles 3-1 on Tuesday evening in Bangor. Freshman
Taylor Joyal (Nashua, N.H./Nashua North) matched her career-high for digs with a game-leading 17 while sophomore
Macie Ahmer (Lake Villa, Ill./Grayslake North) and freshman
Reese Helisek (Halifax, Mass./Silver Lake Regional) split the setting duties with 17 and 15 assists, respectively. Each setter also served well as Helisek led the team with five aces, while Ahmer, Joyal and junior
Amelia Beatty (Rochester, N.H./Spaulding) each had four. The Huskies served up a season-high 20 aces as a team.
Freshman
Mariah Eaton (West Yarmouth, Mass./Dennis-Yarmouth Regional) placed second on the team in kills with eight followed by freshman
Haylie Bidegain (Logan, N.M.) with seven. Bidegain also had two aces to finish with nine points, a total good for third on the team.

Series History:
The Huskies have extended their all-time series lead to 44-17. The Huskies have won nine of the last 10 matches in the series, including a 3-1 win earlier this season in Gorham.
How It Happened:
- The Huskies pulled away in the first set with a 7-0 run to take a 21-15 lead. The run featured three aces by Ahmer. The Huskies totaled seven aces in the set to Husson's one as they took the set 25-17. 25-18. Koehler, Eubanks-Hemme and Eaton each had two kills in the run and Beatty had an ace.
- Southern Maine led 11-2 in kills in the second set on their way to a 25-14 win to go ahead two sets to none. The set included an 8-0 run by the Huskies.
- Husson avoided the sweep by winning the third set 25-21. The Eagles' 14 kills in the set were the most by either team in a single set in the match.
- The Huskies added another seven aces in the fourth set and had 12 kills as they won the set 25-17. Three of those aces came from Beatty as part of a 7-0 run early in the set.

- Joyal also had 17 digs in a 3-1 win against Husson on September 6.
- Koehler now has four double-doubles on the season.
