Lexi Morin (Brunswick, Maine) scored her fourth goal of the season and senior
Riley Reitchel (Palermo, Maine/Erskine Academy) picked up the assist but it was not enough as the University of Southern Maine Huskies fell 2-1 to the No. 12 Middlebury College Panthers in a non-conference women's soccer game Sunday afternoon at Hannaford Field.
Middlebury's Taya McClennen scored the brace to lead the Panthers to the win.

Today's game marked the first meeting between Middlebury and the Huskies in program history. It is the third nationally-ranked program Southern Maine has played as part of its non-conference schedule this season.
How It Happened:
- The Panthers got off the mark early has McClennen slotted home the first of her two goals in the game with 30 seconds expired on the game clock. McClennen was set up from Olivia Irwin-Pokorny for the one-time far-post strike on goal.
- McClennen made it 2-0 in the 22nd minute completing a through ball from Carolina Espinsa.
- Southern Maine's press worked in the 36th minute as the Huskies' forwards earned a turnover in the box, and Morin knocked in her second goal in as many games on a square ball across the face of goal from Reitchel.
- Neither team had too many solid chances in the second half, and the Middlebury defense kept the Huskies from finding an equalizer.
