How It Happened:
- Despite registering the first four shots of the contest, Southern Maine found itself trailing WestConn 1-0 in the 10th minute after the Wolves were awarded a corner kick, following a misplayed ball across the endline. Shannon Anderson netted the goal for the Wolves knocking in the service from Hannah Blacher for her fifth goal of the season.
- Southern Maine pressed for an equalizer with a Morin header sailing high in the 16th minute and a near-goal from sophomore Meghan Przybilla (St. Anthony, Minn.) glancing off the post in the 21st. Regan was outstanding in the first half, making six saves, including stopping an effort from sophomore Madi Sainis (Pierrefonds, Quebec) seconds after Przybilla's attempt.
- The Huskies finally put one past Regan in the 24th when Morin played a perfectly weighted ball through onto the foot of senior Riley Reitchel (Palermo, Maine/Erskine Academy) on the right side of the field. Taking a touch, Reitchel hit for a goal to the far post for her fifth goal of the season.
- Remaining tied 1-1 through the half, WestConn went up 2-1 against the run of play in the 69th minute. The Huskies had outshot the Wolves 6-1 in the first 20 minutes of the second half. Regan again came up big making a diving stop on a direct kick effort from Przybilla in the 59th. The Wolves Morgan Marcuss scored the go-ahead in the 69th, cleaning up a rebounded save off of the foot of Anderson.
- Przybilla again also had a goal in the 79th, but Regan made an outstanding kick save for a corner kick. Przybilla earned another corner kick for USM in the 84th, and sophomore Makyal Magid (Golden, Colo.) put the ball into a dangerous area following the service before Morin knocked it in from point blank for the equalizer .
