GORHAM, Maine – Freshman
Mackenzie Hall (Westbrook, Maine) scored twice to lead the University of Southern Maine Huskies to a 4-1 win over the UMass Dartmouth Corsairs in a Little East Conference field hockey game Saturday afternoon at Cressy Field.
Hall's goals are her second and third of the season, and marks her second game-winning goal of 2025.

Tonight's game marked the 44th game between the University of Southern Maine Huskies and the UMass Dartmouth Corsairs. Southern Maine leads the series 25-17-2. The Huskies are 7-1 in their last eight contests with the Corsairs, and have won the last four by a combined score of 27-3. UMD last defeated Southern Maine 2-1 in double overtime in 2021.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Hall scored twice in the first quarter as Southern Maine raced out to a 3-0 lead. Scoring a pair of unassisted goals in the third and the 14th minute, sophomore Leah Thibodeau (Auburn, Maine/Edward Little) made it 3-0 with second remaining in the quarter.
- Junior Ivary Spaulding (Freedom, Maine/Mount View) made it 4-0 before the half, scoring the first goal of her Husky career in the 26th minute.
- Southern Maine remained in front 4-0 until the 51st minute when UMD's Sophia Bouffard was able to push one across the line on an assist from Lillian Bento.
INSIDE THE STATS:
- USM outshot the Corsairs 24-3 in the game and had an 13-2 lead in penalty corners.
- Husky starting goalkeeper Eleanor Folsom (Winthrop, Maine) played the first half, making one save. Freshmen Sunny Bache (Exeter, Maine/Dexter) and Allison Marines (Saco, Maine/Thornton Academy) each played 15 minutes. Bache allowed the UMD goal.

The Huskies are on the road their next contest playing at Colby in non-conference action on Sunday (3:00 pm). Southern Maine hosts Thomas College on Wednesday, October 15 (7:00 pm) in its next home contest.
