How It Happened:

- Outscoring the Owls 21-9 in the second, Southern Maine shot 56.3 percent (9-for-16), including a trio of three-pointers. A layup from Ramsdell, an offensive rebounds and putback from Shipley, and a three from York accounted for the first seven points of the second quarter and grew the Huskies' lead to 21-11 with 8:55 left until halftime.
- A driving layup from junior Julia Kratzer (Gorham, Maine/Cheverus) doubled up the Owls and gave USM a 32-16 lead with 2:43 on the clock. KSC made it a 12-point game, 32-20, with back-to-back layup from Avery Stewart and Krysinski, but Framsdell gave the Huskies a 15-point margin headed into the break with a last-second three on a fee from Cote, 35-20.
- The Owls outscored the Huskies 18-15 in the third quarter. Another slow offensive start for both teams, Shipley put the Huskies ahead 41-25 with a three off of a feed from Kratzer midway through the third, but the Owls stormed back with a 16-6 run over the next 3:52 of action to cut the Huskies' lead to nine, 47-38, with 27 seconds showing. KSC's Ratioula hit the three to make it a three-possession game. After a pair of offensive boards on the next USM possession from sophomore Emma Stred (China, Maine/Erskine Academy) and Kratzer to extend play, Cote came up big with a critical three for a 50-38 lead headed into the fourth as time expired.
- With both teams missing until the 6:53 mark of the fourth, Cote extended USM's lead to 15, 53-38, with another big three. Ratioula and Bundy went back-to-back for the Owls with a three and layup respectively to trim the Owl's deficit to 53-43 but Degifico nailed a three from the corner on USM's next possession to keep USM up 56-43 with 3:35 remaining.
