Liam Conneely (Weymouth, Mass.) scored twice, and freshman
Alex Graver (Kingston, Jamaica/Jamaica College (HS)) added a third as the University of Southern Maine Huskies defeated the University of New England Nor'easters 3-1 in a non-conference men's soccer game Saturday afternoon at Hannaford Field.

Today's game is the 58th meeting between the University of Southern Maine and the University of New England. Southern Maine leads the overall series 35-17-6. USM and UNE battled to a scoreless draw in 2022, and UNE defeated Southern Maine 2-1 in 2023.
How It Happened:
- UNE took the lead early scoring in the 13th minute as Matthew Dewhurst tucked in a goal off of an assist from Corbin Schreindorfer.
- Southern Maine equalized in the 28th minute on Conneely's first goal of the game. The Huskies applied pressure in the final 20 minutes of the half, but went into the break tied up at 1-1.
- Conneely put the Huskies ahead in the 57th minute, 2-1. Sophomore Jack Brady (Jensen Beach, Fla.) delivered a perfectly place corner kick service onto the head of Conneely who knocked it in to the near post.
- In the 60th minute, Graver made it 3-1 in favor of Southern Maine running onto a loose ball after a misplayed ball in the back, tapping in the first goal of his intercollegiate career.
