GORHAM, Maine – Akram Traore broke a 0-0 stalemate in the 53
rd minute to help lift the Colby College Mules to a 2-0 win over the University of Southern Maine Huskies in a non-conference men's soccer game Tuesday night at Hannaford Field.

Today's game is the 44th meeting between the University of Southern Maine and the Colby College Mules. Colby leads the overall series 33-7-4. Southern Maine last defeated Colby on September 30, 2009 by the score of 3-0. Colby earned a 4-0 result during the 2023 season.
How It Happened:
- Colby dominated possession in the first half, but the Huskies defense stood strong to keep the game scoreless. Husky freshman goalkeeper Aldo Bryant (Fairhope, Ala./Bayside Academy) made an outstanding diving save on a direct kick attempt in the 33rd minute from Colby's Colin Leon to aid in the effort.
- Colby continued to control the ball in the second half and broke through for the go-ahead goal from Traore in the 53rd. Traore's goal is his first of the season.
- The Mules doubled their advantage in the 55th minute after being awarded a penalty kick following a foul in the box from Southern Maine. Mario Simoes converted the attempt for the 2-0 score.
