PAXTON, Mass. – Senior
Sage Drinkwater (Steep Falls, Maine/Bonny Eagle) scored three goals and the University of Southern Maine Huskies cruised to a 7-0 win over the Anna Maria College AmCats in a non-conference field hockey game Saturday afternoon at AMC.
Five different players scored goals for the Huskies led by Drinkwater's hat trick. Senior
Brooke Carson (Bryant Pond, Maine/Oxford Hills) started the scoring, while sophomores
Dylan Barr (Phippsburg, Maine/Morse) and Taylor LeClerc (Fairfield, Maine/Lawrence), and senior
Jordan Cummings (Auburn, Maine/Edward Little) each recorded their first goals of the season.

Today's game marked the first meeting between the University of Southern Maine Huskies and the Anna Maria College AmCats. Southern Maine now leads the series 1-0.
How It Happened:
- Southern Maine pressured early and recorded seven shots (four on goal) and three penalty corners in the first quarter before Carson broke through for the first goal of the game with an unassisted scored in the 12th minute.
- Up 1-0 to start the second quarter, USM wasted little time doubling its lead when Carson found Drinkwater in the 18th minute. The Huskies took a 3-0 lead into the half as Cummings scored in the 28th minute.
- The Huskies continued to roll in the third scoring two more goals. Barr made it 4-0 just 90 seconds into the third, while Drinkwater scored the second of her three goals in the 37th minute for a 5-0 USM advantage.
- Drinkwater secured the hat trick early in the fourth quarter scoring in the 48th minute, putting the Huskies ahead 6-0. LeClerc finished the scoring as time expired in regulation following a penalty corner for the 7-0 final.
