How It Happened
- Both the Huskies and Warriors had early chances in the contest. In their best first-half chance, USM freshman Alex Graver (Kingston, Jamaica/Jamaica College (HS)) headed one on frame that was stopped by ECSU starter Nathan Yeich in the sixth minute and turned aside for a Husky corner kick.
- The Warriors were the first two score however, as Noah Page bodied in his second goal of the season in the eighth minute. ECSU had earned a corner kick and the service off of the foot of Niall O'Brien found the head of Lex Edwards on the far post. Edwards headed the ball towards Page who was able to drive it home. The score remained 1-0 through the half.
- Eastern's Sean Cafferty nearly doubled the Warriors' lead twice in the opening minutes of the second half, but each time USM freshman goalkeeper Gabe Wagner (Freeport, Maine) was able to make the stop, including a diving save in the 57th minute.
- Southern Maine scored the equalizer in the 68th after the Huskies were fouled outside of the box. Sophomore Jack Brady (Jensen Beach, Fla.) sent the into the box with a well-weight ball, and Farley hit a one-time volley out of the air for the goal.
