GORHAM, Maine – Fifth-year senior
Sierra Castonguay (Nottingham, N.H./Dover) became the sixth player in University of Southern Maine history to reach 1,000 career digs with a 21-dig effort in a 3-1 loss to the Suffolk University Rams. Castognuay was not the only player to hit a major milestone in the contest as Suffolk's McKenna Keowen became the first player in her program's history to reach 1,000 career kills. Her 15 kills led all players.

Series History:
The Rams evened the series at 3-3 with tonight's victory. The Huskies won the first three matches in 2004, 2010 and 2018 but the Rams have now won the last three games in the series.

How It Happened:
- Suffolk won the opening set 25-20 and lead for most of the action after conceding the first point to the Huskies. The Huskies had three aces in the set with junior Drew Johnson (Pismo Beach, Cali. /Brewer) accounting for two of three.
- The second set saw the Huskies race out to a 11-4 lead, but the Rams continued to work their way back and tied the score at 13-13. The lead changed several times throughout the rest of the set before Suffolk closed out the frame with a 26-24 win to go up 2-0.
- The Huskies went ahead 15-7 with an 11-2 run in the third set only to see the Rams rip off a 7-0 run to tie the set at 15-all. Southern Maine scored the next three points on three attack errors by Suffolk and held on to force a fourth set with a 25-20 win. Sophomore Anyelis Hernandez (Lawrence, Mass.) had kills on the final three points of the set.
- The Rams reestablished control with a 9-0 run to start the fourth set and went on the win 25-11 to win the match 3-1.

Inside The Stats:
- Suffolk had three players reach double-figures in kills led by Keowen's 15. Sami Shore finished just behind her with 14 and Jasmine James had 10 while Grace Cervenka came up one kill short with nine.
- The Huskies also had three players with 10 or more kills. Johnson led the team with 14 followed by Hernandez and freshman Ella Koehler (Pickerington, Ohio/Fairfield Christian Academy) with 11 apiece with each player reaching double-figures for the first time in their career.
- Freshman Macie Ahmer (Lake Villa, Ill./Grayslake North) had 36 assists to edge out Suffolk's Jayla Martinez for the game lead. Martinez had 34 for the Rams.
- Shore had two solo blocks and six block assists. The Rams led 10-2 in blocks.
