Vincent Anderson (Anchorage, Alaska) to lead the University of Southern Maine Huskies to a 1-1 draw with the Husson University Eagles in their 2024 season-opener Friday night at Boucher Field.

Tonight's contest is the 53rd meeting in program history between Southern Maine and Husson. The Huskies last face the Eagles during the 2021 season, and came away with a 1-1 double overtime draw. USM leads the overall series 22-18-7, but the Eagles were 4-2-4 in the last 10 meetings.
How It Happened:
- Husson took the lead in the 18th minute on a goal from Mosi Masimango.
- The Eagles kept Southern Maine off of the board in the first half despite an fairly even game statistically with Husson leading USM 5-4 in shots in the opening stanza. Brady nearly had the equalizer before the halftime break, heading the ball on frame but Husson goalkeeper Samuel Bermudez made the stop.
- Brady made good on his next attempt on frame in the 56th minute to knot up the score, heading the ball past Bermudez to the bottom right corner following a free kick service from Anderson.
- Freshman goalkeeper Aldo Bryant (Fairhope, AL/Bayside Academy) earned the decision starting the second half, and making four stops in his collegiate debut for the draw.
