GORHAM, Maine – An All-American in the pole vault at the 2021 and 2023 NCAA Division III Men's Outdoor Track and Field National Championships, University of Southern Maine senior
Ben Drummey (Biddeford, Maine) will be competing in at the outdoor National Championships for the third time in his career. Drummey will compete on the first day of the championship meet on Thursday, May 23 at 4:00 pm in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Drummey tied for fourth last season with a height of 4.75m and placed third in 2021. A two-time National Champion and three-time All-American in the indoor pole vault, Drummey placed second at the 2024 Indoor National Championships. He enters the championship tied for seventh in the nation with a season-best mark of 5.02m. The mark won him the Division III New England title after he cleared the bar on his first attempt. Drummey also won the Little East Conference title in the pole vault.

The pole vault field features four returning All-Americans from the 2023 competition and five vaulters who cleared 5.00m at the 2024 Indoor Championships, including Millikin University's Kyle Hensley who beat out Drummey for the indoor national title. One of three competitors from New England, Drummey will be looking to join Jamie Ruginski '15 as Huskies to win outdoor national titles. Ruginski won the triple jump in 2014 and the long jump in 2015 and also won indoor triple jump titles in 2014 and 2015.

The pole vault starts on Thursday, May 23 at 4:00 pm at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
