How It Happened
  • After a scoreless 41 minutes, UMaine Farmington's Mohamed Adow broke through to put the Beavers up 1-0 in the 42nd minute.  Adow headed the ball to the low left corner after a corner kick service from Zach Chaisson.
  • Southern Maine scored the equalizer in the 52nd minute after Kelly received a long pass out of the back off of the foot of junior Asa Farley (Gorham, Maine).  Playing the ball from the Huskies' defensive third, Farley hit a strong pass to Kelly at the top of the box, and Kelly took one touch to the right before burying the ball to the lower left corner past the diving reach of UMF goalkeeper Jackson Leach.
  • Both teams had quality chances for the go-ahead goal late in the second half.  Adow nearly had a second in the 78th minute, but Husky freshman goalkeeper Aldo Bryant (Fairhope, Ala./Bayside Academy) came up big with one of his five saves in the game. Byrant nearly had another in the 80th, but USM senior Vincent Anderson(Anchorage, Alaska/AJ Dimond) cleared the ball off the line.
  • Husky freshman Alex Graver (Kingston, Jamaica/Jamaica College HS) had a solid attempt in the 55th minute and classmate Hamza Nabi (Westbrook, Maine) headed one just high of the goal in the 70th.
