PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Six different players scored as the University of Southern Maine Huskies earned a 6-1 win over the Plymouth State University Panthers in a Little East Conference women's soccer game Wednesday afternoon at Arold Field.
Rookie
Meghan Przybilla (St. Anthony, Minn./St. Anthony Village) had a goal and an assist, while juniors
Bridgette Toland (Jamestown, R.I./North Kingstown) and
Kadynne Smith (Biddeford, Maine), and senior
Aly Veilleux (Manchester, N.H./Manchester Memorial) each recorded their first goals of the season.
The Huskies have scored 41 goals through 10 games this season and have outscored their opponents 41-14. Southern Maine has outscored its LEC opponents 15-3.

Today's game marks the 41st meeting between the University of Southern Maine and Plymouth State University. In the last five meetings, Southern Maine is 5-1 against Plymouth State earning a 6-1 win at home in 2023. Plymouth State leads the overall series 25-14-1.
How It Happened:
- After a scoreless 32 minutes, Husky senior Catriona Gould (Freeport, Maine) broke free for the firfst goal of the game in the 33rd minute after an outstanding lead ball into the box from freshman Makyla Magid (Golden, Colo./Lakewood).
- Southern Maine scored in the 42nd and 43rd minute to make it 3-0 headed into the halftime break. Smith lasered in a shot from outside of the box off of a corner kick following the double assist from Magid and Przybilla, before Przybilla converted the first of two penalty kicks awarded to the Huskies in the game.
- The Panthers took one back from the Huskies in the 53rd minute when Nevaeh Petruzzi volleyed in a corner kick service from Olivia Howard to make it 3-1 early in the second half, but Southern Maine responded with three more goals for the 6-1 final.
- Toland scored the Huskies' fourth goal of the game in the 68th minute battling her way in the box and pounding the ball into the net for a 4-1 USM lead. Veilleux made it 5-1 after she was brought down in the box and awarded a penalty in the 71st, connecting on the shot to the right of the keeper.
- USM scored its final goal of the contest when sophomore Kayla O'Connor (Perth, Australia/Hamelin-Laie International School) completed the assist from junior Devon Gatz (Millis, Mass.).

- Southern Maine outshot the Panthers 20-5 (12-3 on goal) and had an 8-3 lead in corner kicks.
- McLaughlin's win is the first of her intercollegiate career. She has played in three games this season, earning the start against the Panthers. She has a 0.69 GAA.
