Drew Johnson (Pismo Beach, Cali. /Brewer) recorded her seventh double-double of the season with 15 kills and 10 digs for University of Southern Maine Huskies in a 3-0 loss to the Rhode Island College Anchorwomen in a Little East Conference women's volleyball match. Johnson also added two aces and a block assist for a total of 17.5 points, a new career-high for a three-set match.

How It Happened:
- Rhode Island College used an 8-1 run to pull away in the first set and won the set 25-18.
- The Huskies battled back from a 12-8 deficit with an 8-1 run of their own to go up 16-14. The Anchorwomen eventually retook the lead at 21-20 thanks to a 5-0 run before Southern Maine went ahead 22-21. A 3-0 run brought the Anchorwomen to set point at 24-22 and they held on to take the set 25-23.
- Trailing 23-17 in the third set, the Huskies scored five consecutive points from kills to cut the score to 23-22. Johnson had three of the kills and seven total in the set. However, the set ended 25-23 in favor of the Anchorwomen to give them the match.

Inside The Stats:
- The Huskies had a slight 5-4 lead in blocks. Senior Madison Zimmer (Regina, Saskatchewan/Dr. Martin LeBoldus Catholic) contributed three block assists while Anyelis Hernandez (Lawrence, Mass.) had two. Sophomore Darrien Pugsley (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Arlington) had a solo block and a block assist.
- Hernandez also added nine kills to place second on the team.
- Andrayah Williams led the Anchorwomen in kills with eight followed by Sydnee Pires and Marina Colonis with seven.
- Fifth-year senior Sierra Castonguay (Nottingham, N.H./Dover) had a game-leading 20 digs to match her career-best for a three-set match. Colonis led her team 12.
- Yuleisy Alvelo edged out freshman Macie Ahmer (Lake Villa, Ill./Grayslake North) for the most assists 32-31. Ahmer's 31 assists are her most for a three-set match this season.
- Rhode Island College had an 11-4 advantage in aces with Alvelo and Brookelyn Feola each recording four.
