GORHAM, Maine – The University of Southern Maine Huskies and Bates College Bobcats faced off in a non-conference women's volleyball match on Wednesday evening that saw the Bobcats come away with a 3-0 win. Junior Drew Johnson (Pismo Beach, Cali. /Brewer) led all players in kills with eight and had seven digs. Anaïs Reneaum led Bates with six kills and had four block assists as well.

Today's match was the 75th meeting between the two Maine schools. Bates leads the series 69-6.

How It Happened:
- Bates opened the match with a 7-0 run and took the opening set 25-15.
- Each team had 4-0 runs to start the second set before five consecutive points ended in the Bobcats' favor to make the score 9-4. Trailing 17-10, the Huskies closed the gap to 17-15 with a 5-0 rally in which Johnson had two kills. Bates ended up holding on to close out the set 25-19.
- The Bobcats finished the match with a 25-13 win in the third set.
