How It Happened:
- Both teams put plenty of shots on goal in the first period but neither could score as McKim made 11 saves and Hollingsworth made 12.
- Sophomore Jess MacLean (Red Point, Nova Scotia/Rankin School of the Narrows) put the Huskies ahead 1-0 with a short-handed goal 11:27 into the second period after taking a loose puck all the way down the ice and firing a shot past Hollingsworth.
- The Huskies scored again in the final minute of the period when Stewart drove home a pass from junior Madison Chagnon (St. Albans, Vt./Rice Memorial) in front of the net.
- Southern Maine scored twice more in the third period to put the game away. Junior Amelie St-Amant (Cornwall, Ontario/ Ontario Hockey Academy) scored the first goal 2:35 into the period and freshman Ellie Eigner (Bowling Green, Ohio/ South Lyon East) netted Southern Maine's fourth. Sophomore Saige MacLeod (Dryden, Ontario) assisted on St-Amant's goal and Stewart had the helper on Eigner's tally.
