HOW IT HAPPENED vs. Endicott Game 1:
- The Gulls scored three runs off of three hits and two walks in the top of the first to jump ahead early and then held for the 8-0 win. Shapleigh picked up the first RBI of the game with a bases loaded walk following back-to-back singles from Katie Watts and Raven Comtois to start the game and a walk to Lauren Misiaszek. EC went up 3-0 on a two-run single through the left side from Linsday Joubert.
- Endicott starter Jaylin Couto kept the Huskies off the board and held USM hitless until the bottom of the fourth while her team increased its lead to 4-0 in the third following an RBI double to right Emma DaSilva.
- The Huskies had base runners in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings, but each time Couto ended the threat to keep the shutout alive. Senior Hannah Shields (Buckfield, Maine), junior Lauren Merill (Bethel, Maine/Oxford Hills) sophomore Meaghan Dufresne (Mattapoisett, Mass./Old Rochester Regional), and senior Rona Scott (Beverly, Mass.) each had singles for the Huskies.
- Up 4-0 in the top of the seventh, the Gulls doubled their lead, scoring all four runs on two outs. Shapleigh had a two-run single to left, while DaSilva had an RBI triple to right. Joubert made it 8-0 with a single to shortstop to score DaSilva.
- With an 8-0 lead in hand, Gulls' Abigail Gilbert entered for the final inning, and got three consecutive outs for the win.
HOW IT HAPPENED vs. Endicott Game 2:
- Scoring three runs in the top of the first for the second game, EC used RBI singles from Misiaszek and Shapleigh and a wild pitch to jump ahead early.
- The Gulls made it 4-0 in the top of the fifth on an RBI single from Comtois.
- In the home half of the fifth, Southern Maine took back two runs to half its deficit. Junior Madison Day (Otisfield, Maine) started the rally for the Huskies with a one-out double to the left field fence before advancing to third on a pinch-hit, infield single from junior Jordan Cummings (Auburn, Maine/Edward Little). With two outs away, Snyder laced a sharply hit ball towards second for a single to drive in Day. USM made it 4-2 on another pinch hit single – this time from junior Dory Kulis (Georgetown, Maine/Morse). Endicott ended the threat however with a heads-up defensive play to cut down Snyder as she tried for third.
- In the sixth, Endicott starter Analise Grady worked around a pair of singles, and runners on second and third, with a strikeout and a fly out, and then came back in the seventh to strikeout the side and earn the win.
