WATERVILLE, Maine – The Colby College women's lacrosse team scored seven first-quarter goals on their way to a 14-3 non-conference win over the University of Southern Maine Huskies on Wednesday evening at Bill Alfond Field in Waterville. The Mules had a dozen different players record points in the game with seven players registering multiple points.

How It Happened:
- Cami McDonald and Julia Jardina each scored two goals as part of a 7-0 first quarter for the Mules. McDonald also assisted on one of Jardina's goals.
- Gianna Bruno assisted on two goals and scored one of her own in the closing seconds of the quarter.
- Hearns exited the game after the first quarter and did not face a shot.
- Colby scored two more times in the second quarter and kept the Huskies scoreless for the majority of the quarter until freshman Cierra Hill (Pembroke, N.H./Pembroke Academy) scored on a free position shot to end the shutout with 3:09 left in the half.
- Kins Helmer scored her first and second goals of the season for Colby in the third.
- Gennie Littlejohn and Ali Gill each also scored their first goal of the season in the quarter. Gill also assisted on Helmer's second goal.
- Junior Kiaya Gatchell (Portland, Maine/Deering) and sophomore Julia McKenna (Windham, Maine) scored for Southern Maine in the third.
- Gill scored again in the fourth and her goal was the only one of the final frame.

- Gill, McDonald and Bruno each had three points for Colby.
- Ally Franz also scored twice for the Mules.
- Colby doubled the Huskies' caused turnover total at 12-6. Gatchell and Racine each had two for Southern Maine.
- The Mules recorded 29 ground balls while the Huskies had 12. Jardina, Gill, Jillian Mazzocca and Tessa Loria each had three ground balls for Colby and tied junior Paige Rinaldi (Freeport, Maine) for the game lead.
